The
Baronnies are a natural region situated in
the Hautes-Pyrénées department.
This
area is comprises thirty or so villages, which make
up what we call a "terroi" (an area whose
identity specific set of characteristics which make
it special). Out of the way of large main roads, the
baronnies knew to keep a well-balanced natural landscape,
with a magical charm that gives the area a charm of
its own.
Its
farmers value freedom and independence ans there is
a strong feeling of pride in the beauty of the area.
There
are tremendous places and landscapes to be seen and
enjoyed in the baronnies and a real sense of timelessness.
The
Baronnies are symply unforgettable : you will come to
think that fairies have cast a spell upon valleys and
knolls.
